The Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, within the limits of Federal target program Development of the uniform educational infomedia (2001-2005) created a federal educational portal " Engineering education". The online e-journal "Engineering education" is included in the structure of the portal.

The e-journal "Engineering education" is issued monthly with addition of a news section, a forum and a bulletin board in the on-line mode.

The magazine is registered in the Federal depositary of electronic editions, its registration certificate 008 was assigned to it on January 18, 2005, by the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications of the Russian Federation and by the Federal Information Technologies Agency.

The editorial council headed by Fedorov I.B., head of Bauman Moscow State Technical University (BMSTU), was created specially for consideration of scientific publications in the e-journal. Assistants and members of the editorial council are professors of Moscow institutes of higher education, officials of State research institute of information technologies and telecommunications, representatives of the industry.

The e-journal release is carried out by the editorial board of the e-journal. The editor-in-chief of the e-journal is Pavlov Y.N., DSc, professor of BMSTU.

This internet-based e-journal is very convenient because there is an opportunity to release new materials on-the-fly, to hold online discussions and conferences. All this is meant not only for research assistants but also for senior students so that they could have an opportunity to publish their own independent projects.
